Day 72 - S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night

“Middle age is when you're sitting at home on a Saturday night and the telephone rings and you hope it isn't for you” ~Ogden Nash~

Today I'm grateful for:

clean floors. First time these floors have been clean since Thanksgiving. I can't tell you how nice it is to get down on the floor to take a photo and not break out into a full body rash.

a clean fish tank. Now, if the fish don't die from shock I'll be amazed.

living flowers. Drought resistant, indigenous and butterfly attracting colorful little faces beaming up at me and begging me to feed them to the shutterbug. Tomorrow, after brunch, we plant. Yet another reason to love Sundays.

tomorrow being Sunday

fresh pumpkin bread. Who says it's just for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow we dine on Orange French Toast w/ Orange butter, ham steaks, home fries w/ onions and fresh fruit salad. Nom Nom Nom...

clean hamsters. He got a bath and smells like baby powder. That will last exactly 4.2 minutes till he finds something smelly in the back yard and rolls in it before I can stop him.

surprise visits from Kelly. She and her dad spent the day working on the Military entrance exam. To hear her talk about her future with such hope makes my hart happy. Oh, and she played her new guitar for us. She rocks dude.

getting it all done. 3 Saturday's in a row now I've been productive. I better knock this crap off before it becomes a habit.

Brilliant blue skies, marshmallow clouds and sunshine.

I'm freakin old dude. My idea of a great Saturday Night? Baking pumpkin bread and ironing. Then a long hot bath and climbing in between clean sheets to curl up with my favorite human. *sighs* Being young is overrated.
